Hi, I’m Sophie.
Who am I? Well, I’m 24 years old, I live in a cool little town called Mount Maunganui, and I love to travel, explore this beautiful country of ours, crush on other people’s dogs, and, of course, take photos.
How did I get into photography? My mum. Cliche I know. But her beautiful black and white film portraits sparked something in me. She had a way of capturing a moment so beautifully it could tell a story. I fell in love with the idea of that – being able to capture the emotion and the personality and the quirks of someone, and ultimately the idea of being able to tell a story through my lens.
I like to shoot in a way that tells the story of both the couple’s relationship, and their wedding day as honestly and candidly as possible. This means I aim to be in the background, capturing all the moments both big and small that when pieced together like a jigsaw tell the overall story of the day.
When it comes to the bride and groom and bridal party shots I offer loose guidance if needed into poses to ensure everyone looks amazing as possible. I know photo shoots can seem pretty daunting but I promise you we will have some fun!
If you’re interested in having me shoot your wedding day please take a look at my portfolio. If it sparks some connection with you then I’d love to hear from you!
